Lily Lake, Rockwood Park

Overview
Rockwood Park in St. John, New Brunswick is home to freshwater lakes which are enjoyed by many for outdoor pursuits. Clear Blue installed 26 Illumient off-grid lights spanning the 1.38km Lily Lake trail.
The Challenge
Prior to installation, the Lily Lake trail remained unlit, limiting nighttime usage, particularly during winter. Grid lighting would have cost over $30,000 in trenching and cabling alone, and the construction would have damaged the surrounding ecosystem.
Our Solution
Clear Blue installed 26 Illumient off-grid lights spanning the 1.38km trail, saving the city over $30,000 in trenching and cabling costs. 10 of the lights have inverters to support auxiliary loads such as Christmas lights in the winter.
Results
- 26 Illumient off-grid lights installed spanning the 1.38km trail.
- 10 of the lights have inverters to support auxiliary loads such as Christmas lights in the winter.
- The lighting enables safe nighttime and winter enjoyment of park pathways.
