Overview
The City of Hamilton deployed 40 solar-powered Illumient lights on a road adjacent to the Niagara Escarpment.
The Challenge
The limestone terrain of the Niagara Escarpment made traditional trenching and electrical cabling impractical. Additionally, the city sought to reduce ongoing utility expenses associated with grid-connected street lighting infrastructure.
Our Solution
Clear Blue installed 40 Illumient solar-powered street lights, avoiding construction expenses for underground cabling while providing reliable year-round illumination.
Results
- Extended evening usability of the road throughout the year.
- Avoided construction expenses for underground cabling in limestone terrain.
- Reduced maintenance burdens and decreased energy expenditures.
