Route 347

Overview
Route 347 is a 14.5-mile state highway connecting the Northern State Parkway in Hauppauge to Route 25A in Mount Sinai. The installation included solar-powered lighting along highway stretches and at seven bus shelters.
The Challenge
The area it covers is near the eastern tip of Long Island, an area that has been hit by many large storms including Hurricane Sandy. A significant number of these storms have resulted in power outages of long duration.
Our Solution
Solar-powered lighting was installed to ensure operational continuity during extended power outages in this storm-prone region.
