Support

How to get support

We watch every Clear Blue system 24/7, so we're often already fixing a problem before you spot it. If you need us, here's how to reach us.

Before you write

Four things to tell us

Most delays happen because we have to write back and ask which system you mean. Send us these four things and we can often sort it out first time.

01

Your site name or system ID

The most useful thing you can send us. It lets us look up your system before we reply.

02

What's wrong

And when it started. "Dark since Tuesday" helps us far more than "not working".

03

Whether it's urgent

Tell us if a site is down or lights are out. We treat that differently from one dim fixture.

04

Photos, if anything is damaged

A photo of damage, wiring, or mounting saves a lot of back and forth.

Frequently asked questions

Sorted by what you have installed. If your question isn't here, just ask us. We'd rather hear from you than have you guess.

01

Solar Lighting

Street lights, area and pathway lights, and smart controls.

Why is my solar street light not turning on at night?

Usually it's one of three things: the solar panel is dirty or in shade, the dusk sensor is blocked, or the battery ran low after several dull days. Every Clear Blue system reports back to our Illumience platform, so we can normally tell which it is without anyone climbing the pole. Send us your site name or system ID and we'll check.

How many nights can a Clear Blue solar light run without sun?

It depends on where the light is, how it's angled, how bright it runs, and for how long. So we size each system for its own site, using 30 years of local weather data. That means it's built for the worst weather that location has seen, not the average. Your commissioning paperwork lists the figure for your sites, and we can confirm it.

Can lighting schedules and brightness be changed remotely?

Yes. On and off times, dimming, and midnight setback are all changed from Illumience and sent to the light. No site visit, no ladder. It's also how we protect a system through a long spell of bad weather: we can dim it slightly rather than let it go dark.

What should I do if a light or solar panel is damaged or vandalized?

Tell us the system ID, what happened, and send photos if you can take them safely. Damage means parts and a site visit, so photos help us get the right kit out first time. Illumience has often already flagged the electrical side, which helps us tell a broken panel from a wiring fault.

Do solar street lights work through winter and snow?

Yes. Short winter days and snow are built into the design from the start, which is what the 30 years of weather data is for. Panels are angled to shed snow, and we watch charging through the winter so we spot a struggling system before it goes dark. If yours keeps falling short, tell us and we'll look at the data.

02

Telecom and Off-Grid Power

Power for telecom sites, remote equipment, and cabinets.

My telecom site lost power. What happens next?

We monitor every system 24/7, so in most cases we already know and are working on it. If you've spotted an outage and haven't heard from us, treat it as urgent: call or WhatsApp rather than email, and have your site name or system ID ready.

How do I check battery charge and system health remotely?

Illumience shows live battery charge, solar coming in, power going out, and overall health for every site, plus the history. If you need a login or want to add people, just ask us.

Can Clear Blue replace or top up a diesel generator at an existing site?

Yes. We do both full replacements and hybrid setups, and it usually pays off fastest where fuel deliveries and generator servicing cost the most. This one needs a proper look at your site rather than a support ticket. Send us the site load, location, and how you power it today, and we'll take it from there.

What happens during a long spell of bad weather?

Systems are sized against 30 years of local weather, so truly unusual weather is rare. When it happens, Illumience uses the forecast to manage the battery ahead of time, and we can change what gets priority remotely to keep your critical kit running. We'll contact you if we think a site is at risk.

How do you size a new off-grid site?

From your actual power use, the location, and how much uptime you need, using 30 years of weather data for that exact spot rather than a regional average. Send us the equipment list, how long each item runs, and the coordinates, and we'll work it out. Our ROI calculator gives you a rough figure straight away if you just want a ballpark.

03

Monitoring, Service and Accounts

Illumience logins, what's covered, and how to report a fault.

What is Illumience and how do I get access?

Illumience is our cloud platform. It monitors and manages every system we install, showing live performance, faults, settings, and history. Logins are set up per company. Email us from your work address and tell us which sites you need to see.

What is included in Energy-as-a-Service?

Every Clear Blue product comes with three years of Energy-as-a-Service. That covers cloud monitoring, spotting problems early, maintenance we start rather than wait for, and 24/7 remote management through Illumience. It's a service, not just a warranty: we watch your system and act when something starts to slip. Ask us to confirm what's active on your contract.

How do I add or remove people on our Illumience account?

Email us from your company email with names, email addresses, and which sites each person should see. Removals work the same way. If someone has left the company, say so and we'll do it right away.

Do I need to send someone out every time something goes wrong?

Usually not. We fix a lot of faults remotely through Illumience, by changing settings or adjusting how the system runs, or by working out that the cause is something outside like shade or a damaged connection. A site visit is the last resort, and when one is needed we tell you what to bring so it's one trip.

How do I report a fault or ask for a replacement part?

Email support@clearbluetechnologies.com with your site name or system ID, what's wrong, and when it started. Add photos for anything damaged. If a site has lost power or lights are out, call or WhatsApp instead so it reaches someone right away. We'll check whether we can fix it remotely before sending parts.

Still stuck?

Send us your site name or system ID and we'll check your system before we reply.
